Generally, a gage steward would be responsible for one maintenance and care of one or more specific gage location. The gage stewards would become members of the Floodzilla team, and attend a monthly meeting, keep up with flood events, and troubleshoot their specific gages, especially before a flood event.

Duties include:

  1. Preseason: prepare and reinstall gages, including clean sensor and transmitter, inspect antenna, and change batteries. Once reinstalled, inspect site for any debris that could return bad readings, and assist staff with re-surveying for data comparison integrity.
  2. During flood season: monitor readings and troubleshoot gages as necessary. Refer to SOP manual for remote diagnostic tools.
